The Department Of Justice is on a rampage of crazy to be sure. Not only are they going after the Arizona illegal immigration law, but they are completely ignoring the Black Panthers case too! What the hell is going on in Washington? I have never seen an administration and president so blatantly ignore, bend, and break constitutional laws for the sake of minority votes. But when you look at the hole the dems have dug for themselves, ostracizing even the center, it makes sense. Obama and the dems only hope for remaining in power is to secure a vast majority of minority votes. With independents leaving the Obama camp, its that much more crucial.

This desperate grab for the minority votes is self evident in Obama’s directing the DOJ to drop the Black Panther case, which was already settled but for one last formality that was already certain, and his aggressive attack of Arizona, filing suit against them. This is boldness turned to corruption and ill-fatedness. It boggles the logical mind these tactics. Obama has shown his cards, and they say Chicago gangster scare tactics. He’s brought a new level of thugdom to the white house.

The events that will really seal this apparent and obvious role of Obama and his administration is if these cases fall in his favor. If the black panther case is permanently dropped and left to fade away, and Obama wins his suit against Arizona, it will be a complete and total failure of democracy with regard to these incidents. Thug politics and fear of the highest order will abound in Washington even more than it does now. What the hell is this country coming to when the president directs the DOJ to force states to stop protecting themselves only to offer absolutely no alternative or replacement for the protection? What the hell is this country coming to when voters can be blatantly intimidated at the voting pole doors and the dam president directs the DOJ to just drop it, when it is in the bag, and allow aggressive voting pole intimidation, harassment, and threats by men holding weapons? If I could relay a scream through this post, I would insert it here! I mean, holy shit Obama, what the hell kind of country are you running here? Why don’t you just have the military start taking over the country and impose your personal agenda on the people against their will officially, instead of doing it like no one sees, when everyone does in fact! it’s right in our faces every frickin day!

It is time for men like Christie and Jindal to step up nationally and start leading in the manner of an actual leader, not a bully child trying to force his own way. We need a Reagan desperately at this moment in history to get the country, government, and economy back in line. Since Bushes major departing and mistrust of the free market with the first bale out and even his liberal spending before, we’ve been heading in the wrong direction. Leaders wanted!

His wife likes him, and she seems picky. His children are well behaved. But Obama is a bad president. Compare him to Bill Clinton.

Now, Slick Willy – he’s a jerk. But he was a good president. Hell, he’s still a good president in effect. But Billy had like 10 years of experience as a governor of the State of Arkansas. He already knew how to actually do things.

All Obama has ever run is a campaign, or rather, hired someone to run a campaign. But all a candidate needs to do on the trail is charm people. Obama is a superb charmer! And that’s all he’s done so far. What’s his biggest accomplishment? The health reform bill of course. And what did that require of him? Charm. Others wrote it. Others fell on swords to pass it. He just pranced around making false arguments about his opposition, charmingly, and, charmingly, spoke in the grand generalities that allow people to imagine a perfect world can be had at his command – if given the power.

But when shit starts to explode, industries shut down, and ecosystems are being destroyed day by day on the TV set – or in the back yard – all that fancy charm starts to look like pandering and political maneuvering.

The joke it’s self wasn’t the problem. It’s how Obama tells jokes that makes them weird. He starts smirking before he even tells it, anticipating all his little podium bunnies will chuckle along regardless. And he keeps smirking – with a cadence making it obvious he’s attempting a joke – as people patiently wait for him to stumble it out.

That joke was similar to Brown’s joke about his daughters. It embarrassed everyone. But Obama went on to add something about the most controversial weapon in the arsenal – which the President actually does kill people with. If the Iraqi invasion was illegal drone strikes are assassinations.

Has no one anything to say about it?

The president seemed to concede that some of the acquired votes he needs for the bill were ill-gotten, agreeing with Sen. McCain that Medicare recipients in FL shouldn’t be treated differently than those in AZ. But whenever discussion came up about redoing the bill, the canned response was a slap on the nose for political jockeying and moving off topic. Anything the president didn’t want to deal with was off topic! It is fair to guide the conversation when there’s limited time involved. But it also is too easily used as a dodge.

It seems to me the president has determined this bill in its current form is his program. He believes it will work, and doesn’t believe in the numbers of those who say it won’t. He also believes the American people, or at least the American people that count to him right now, want him to press ahead with his plan. What alarmed me most was his statement to Sen. McCain that he believes the American people are more interested in a vote than in how the vote is achieved.

Some of the people in that room set terrible examples for negotiative governments world-wide. Even the president couldn’t help smiling at that CBO run-around:

“The CBO was given inaccurate numbers to work with. Consequently, its conclusions are inaccurate.”
“Well! I just don’t see how we can proceed with colleagues who call into question the integrity of the distinguished Congressional Budget Office.”

I appreciate efforts to make positive comments. But holy horses ass don’t you hate being treated like you’re a stupid jerk who has no idea what’s happened in the past year?

Indeed, I love the idea of a capital gains tax cut on small business investment. But I’ll swear this right now – and let it be heard: If Obama and his Democrats pass such a tax cut, and actual cut and not in name only, the following Saturday, at the first strike of noon, I will cross my front street and take a shit in my mail box.

This address has amazed me. I wasn’t expecting Obama to be so brazenly and blatantly contradictory and – well – disingenuous. This address was one contradiction after another – and one skewed view of reality after another.

Seriously – he’s still trying to sell the Recovery Act as a jobs creator? Even MSNBC is calling that bill a big fat failure. No one with a brain is proud of that load of pork – Liberal victory party.

Seriously – he thinks there’s no support for this asinine health reform bill because he didn’t explain it well enough? Does he really think we’re that stupid??? Who the hell knows what is in that bill? The week before last his camp had locked themselves in a room, made dirty secret deals in order to grab votes for a secret bill. All the while Obama is constantly – on every channel every week – spouted poetry about vague ideas of health reform. Didn’t explain it well enough… Oh yeah – if only the American people understood the bill they’d all be on board. YOU KNOW DAMN WELL YOU KEPT IT A F****G SECRET BECAUSE YOU KNEW DAMN WELL IF AMERICA DID KNOW WHAT WAS IN IT THEY’D SHIT THEMSELVES OVER IT!!!!

Seriously – he wants to talk about putting old Washington politics aside? That’s what he spent the last bit of the address about, an emotionally calling for a start of new, and so on. Seriously? HE – Obama – was calling for an end to the perpetual campaign??? Come on – we aren’t all stupid. Obama himself IS that dirty style of politics – where you do [this] but talk [that]. That’s what this address IS!!!. He’s talking [$that] while doing [$this].

$that = nuclear, drilling, tax cuts, spending freeze, veto

$this = health takeover, redistribution, climate religion, command economics

I noticed something interesting. He claimed with regard to healthcare reform that he didn’t take it on to take a political victory. As he said it though, watch his body language. He didn’t believe what he was saying, or at least he wasn’t comfortable or confident saying it.

But the most honest thing he said was that he’d focus on job creation in 2010. No – I don’t believe he will focus on job creation in 2010. It’s just honest that he basically admitted that he sure as shit wasn’t focusing on jobs creation in 2009 – unless you count government jobs.

I’d get more detailed, but I’m just exhausted. Obama’s idea of sharing a cake is to take the whole damn thing up to his room. Of course his brother will disagree with that policy. So Obama will accuse his brother of “not sharing” by blocking his policy of sharing the cake.

I can’t believe a single thing Obama says anymore. I just can’t. It’s not partisanship either, or any of that blind religious belief in conservativism some would like to accuse me of, or racism, or prejudice against left handed people. It’s a simple fact I learned long ago: Some people lie.

Also, does anyone else find his narcissism a little off-putting? Shit, this whole speech was focused on Obama. I-I-I-I-I-I-I…

It is funny that every Democrat commenting on the speech has had something derogatory to say about Republicans holding up legislation. Those poor Dems… If they ever took a group trip to Baskin Robins we’d never see them again.

Come on Republicans. Get on board with our cake sharing policy! Don’t you believe we should share cake??? Why won’t you let us share the cake with you? You just want the whole cake for yourselves don’t you. Yeah, you’re selfish. Obama has bent over backwards to compromise with your guys and you’ll have nothing to do with it. It’s like – you expect Obama’s cake sharing policy to actually let you have some of the cake or something…

Shit I shouldn’t have watched this thing so early in the day. I was going to watch it last night but my connection got sick. Maybe I’ll have more detailed and less frustrated comments later.

Personally, and specifically Citibank – I don’t care if they ram it up their ass sideways with the trunk open. But rationally and fundamentally, it’s just another example of the philosophical approach the Left takes to problem solving:

– The élites decide we all are entitled to, or have a right to “this” – home’s, clean water, healthcare, high pay, and so on. Instead of promoting the growth and advancement of “this” – which can often require some pesky effort and understanding – they take the simply approach. They look at how much “this” costs, make up a number of people not currently enjoying “this”, multiply the two, then decide which group of wealthy people to tax for that amount and pass the legislation with a rushing screaming mob under the banners of for-the-little-guy compassion and demonizing their opposition as being “for the status-quo”. –

In this case they want all the banks to pay back all the money tax payers have lost bailing them out. All the banks can’t pay. So the one’s that have paid – the ones with money – Obama wants to force to pay the whole bill. And that might be fair. I’ve been thinking a little about that. Now – from the casual observer it can be noted that his criticism has been helping Obama by causing all the flaky and miss-matched Democrats to rally around him. And assuming that Cheney is indeed against the Obama agenda, it might seem illogical. It might seem that Cheney has some vindictive hair up his ass.

But let’s give this more than 1 and ½ second’s worth of thought. Cheney is a smart man. You can call him evil or crazy – but you have to admit he knows how to make things happen his way. Maybe he is seriously concerned about Obama’s approach – or lack of – to national security. Maybe he knows more about the situation we’re in and our ability to deal with it than we do – since it used to be his job.

Or maybe it is animosity. Maybe Cheney believes – as I believe – that a serious attack will be getting through –probably in less than a year. And if Cheney wants to totally cripple Obama’s agenda, his current criticism might be an effort in making every lax move Obama makes regarding national security starkly apparent so that when the attack does finally get through – when the next weaponized article of clothing operates as intended – everyone will know exactly who to blame.

Overall economic growth doesn’t translate to a better world. We all still need art and music – or so I’ve heard. But – can we all agree that overall economic shrinkage does equate to a worse world – since people will be starving to death and without homes and stuff?

Homeless rates in America haven’t been high since the 30’s. And the increase in homelessness around Reagan’s time was due to the recession he inherited from Carter. I think this is the source of all these false-phrases about Reagan. Reagan didn’t continue Carter’s style of pandering to the poor so he was vilified by the hippies. His was more of a – we’re going to take our lumps and fix it.

As I stated in chapter 3, Reagan raised the interest rates to curb the inflation that was making everyone bitch-broke. (that’s what we’ll have to do when the Obama inflation hits) According to the United States Conference of Mayors, the main cause of homelessness is lack of affordable housing. So, the policy of raising interest rates might be called a cause of homelessness – since it does increase housing cost.

United States Conference of Mayors, “A Status Report on Hunger and Homelessness in America’s Cities: a 27-city survey”, December 2001.

Of course, this same policy helped – along with tax cuts – to jerk the country out of a bad recession, the worst one since the Great Depression. So I say that’s a bad argument. Yeah, high interest rates make housing go up. But high inflation makes everyone’s nest egg disappear, which means a layoff can mean a foreclosure – not to mention everything becomes more expensive.

Besides that I don’t know what Reagan did that wasn’t good for homeless rates – specifically the huge amount of job growth and increased standard of living. Maybe you could make arguments about specific cuts, or Democrat policies he wouldn’t employ. I seem to remember some stories about homeless shelters being closed – or something along those lines. That might have been around Reagan’s term and you know the Liberals would have vilified his entire administration over that or anything else. But overall more entitlements were going out – as my last message showed.

I finally found Obama’s graph. The Whitehouse took it down I guess – so I had to find it somewhere else. It was figure 9 on page 11 of Obama’s budget at the start of the year. Also, look at the source. Thomas Piketty is a French socialist economist. LOL

See? Share of total income, as if wealth were a constant. But wealth is not a constant. It’s not something you can simply divvy-up. People make it out of labor and resources. The fact that the top 1% has doubled their % of total income earned doesn’t mean they’re taking it from anyone. It just means they are increasing their own faster than others.

If we go picking mushrooms, and I run around the whole time in my own area picking hand over fist, while you four pick leisurely, when we get back home I might have picked 100, while each of you each picked 25. Statistically I have 50% of the mushrooms. Does that mean I have a greater share of the total mushrooms picked? Of course not. I have 100% of the mushrooms I picked and 0% of the mushrooms you picked. There are still more mushrooms out there and I didn’t push any of you out of my way to pick them – I just picked faster. Maybe I hired someone to help me? Maybe I developed a new technique? Maybe I developed a mushroom detector?

That’s why this dishonest use of the “income gap” is false. In Obama’s budget it was used as proof of disparity, the rich cheating and getting rich off the backs of the regular people following rules. It’s just pandering to popular anger… And why the hell did they need to turn to a French Socialist economist’s graph – ffs?

As for trickle-down and poverty due to Reagan policies, your assertion is false. Poverty rates have come down since Reagan took office. It has cycled, but I don’t see how any of Reagan’s policies could have contributed to poverty. It’s not like he raised anyone’s taxes. And just from looking at the graph it looks to me like recessions cause the up-ticks in poverty – and whatever Reagan did after taking office decreased poverty pretty well and fast.

Poverty decreased from 93 to 89. That’s basically all of Reagan’s term but the first year or so he spent setting up his policies. The rate increased from 89 to 93, which was Bush Sr.’s term. But blaming him would be foolish since the economic policies didn’t change. From there they have trended generally down – the whole time using Reagan’s tax cut small spending philosophy. That’s changing now for the first time since Carter (77-81).

Just a note: careful when looking at Number in Poverty. This rate goes up with increase in population.

Trickle-up is the idea that cutting taxes on the rich will result in more investment – hence more hiring, buying and selling.

Here is a graph of unemployment from 50 to 05. Unemployment went down during Reagan’s term – didn’t go up until the 90’s recession, right along with poverty.

Education, GDP, and standard of living have all come up since the 50’s, dramatically starting in the 80’s, like everything else that positive. So I can’t find any proof for this idea that Reagan was hard on the poor and homeless or that trickle-down doesn’t work. He most certainly wasn’t and it most certainly does.

If you want more proof, listen to some 80’s music or watch a couple 80’s movies. Times were great back then. Everything was an inspiration to do better, the underdog sticking to his values, and so on. I mean, Karate Kid. That’s all I’ve got to say.

Try to be best
’cause you’re only a man
and a man’s gotto learn to take it
try to believe
when the going gets rough (When the things get
difficult)
that you gotta hang tough to make it (to be strong)

History repeats itself
try and you’ll succeed
never doubt that you’re the one
and you can have your dream

you’re the best around
nothing is gonna ever keep you down

you’re the best around
nothing is gonna ever keep you down

you’re the best around
nothing is gonna ever keep you down

Fight till the end
‘Cause your life will depend
On the strength that you have inside you
Gotta be proud
standing out in the crowd
when they odds of the game defy you (When most of the
things in the game are against you)

try your best to win them all
and one day time will tell
when you’re the one that’s standing there
you’ve reached the final bell

you’re the best around
nothing is gonna ever keep you down

you’re the best around
nothing is gonna ever keep you down

you’re the best around
nothing is gonna ever keep you down

(instrumental)

you’re the best around
nothing is gonna ever keep you down

you’re the best around
nothing is gonna ever keep you down

Fight till you drop
Never stop
You can’t give up until you win sometime
(Fight!)
You’re the best in town
(Fight!)
Listen to that sound
A little bit of all you’ve got
never bring you down!
Chorus
