Obama took a similar approach to healthcare reform. He let some civvie non-doctors slap together the most absurdly Liberal stack of horseshit they thought they could get away with, and inadvertently gave his enemies a big heavy stick to thump on him with for the foreseeable future.

I’d say the Liberals are basically neutered. They were out of control, but totally blew everything, like Lenny and a fragile furry creature. America’s probably learned its lesson for a decade or two, unless Sarah Palin gets elected and gives the old pendulum yet another big health *kick*

I was pondering some parallels today between Bush’s decisions about the Iraq invasion and Obama on healthcare reform.

Bush’s mistake was letting some over-confident civvies dictate troop numbers per his strategy, as opposed to his old man’s approach to desert storm and shield. Bush I sent what the Generals requested. Bush II sent what Rummy thought he could get away with.

Obama took a similar approach to healthcare reform. He let some civvie non-doctors slap together the most absurdly Liberal stack of horseshit they thought they could get away with, and inadvertently gave his enemies a big heavy stick to thump on him with for the foreseeable future.

They both had a brilliant chance to do something amazing – and shitted all over it. Bush had the chance to free Iraq in a sudden and awesome way. Just think about it!!! What if they had gone in with a slightly longer-term strategy and/or an appropriate number of troops to keep the peace in Iraq. In 2002 we would be where we are NOW in Iraq. Think of the credibility Bush would have had! Afghanistan – check, Saddam – check, Iran???

Likewise, Obama could have socialized US medicine by his 8th year in office. What if he had passed a small highly popular bill for health reform in his first year? Something including Republican ideas that would tight a few of them in? Something with real benefits that would be felt within the year or next? By end of year two, or sooner, he would have had health-reform-credibility and the capital needed to easily pass another ginger step. By his second term he could have carefully constructed the real “Big Fucking Deal.”

Of course, he would have also needed to keep that cap and trade bill stuffed up the collective Liberal ass, and not pulled a recklessly irresponsible and totally thoughtless ‘stimulus’ bill. I’m not saying he should have continued the tax-cut Bush approach to bracing and patching the economy. I’m saying he would have had to constructed and passed an actual stimulus bill, not a goody-grab labeled as such.

He went the belligerent rout though, and will have been a lame-duck the second half of his presidency, assuming he doesn’t find a way to pull-off a second term.

If this is true, we are best not to let them cross the Atlantic just as in the Cuban Missile Crisis. Would Obama send naval ships to block the shipment? Would he send fighters to deter an air shipment? No, he probably wouldn’t do shit. He’d try to negotiate with 6 party talks until they nuked us, then he’d think about sanctioning them. What I’m referring to is Obama’s innovative zero-leverage approach to negotiation, i.e. charm.

With all the terrifying things the media is able to cover, there must be gobs of horrific omens coming out of intelligence. I wouldn’t be surprised if Obama gets to wage his own war. And, if he’s in office a second term, I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t. The crazies of the world breathed a deep sigh of relief when Hopey Changey Cut’n Run got elected.

Speaking of Hopey Changey – how do you like the news about extending the Bush tax cuts? I’m astounded that even recently there are still oblivious Liberals blaming Republicans for the lack of compromise, using things like the Healthcare bill as an example… It think you have to be stupid to not realize that it’s the Liberals making legislation impossible – not to discount radicals on either end.

Even when the Democrats had a super majority, their legislation was too liberal even for 1/3 of the Democrats! It didn’t matter what the Republicans did then. But still, the Democrats – having the power to pass anything on their own – took a whole year to pass a big pile of shit no one liked, labeled: Healthcare Reform, and that’s about all they did, considering their long list.

Now, after Obama himself naively makes a closed-door deal with the Republicans on the Bush tax cuts, those stubbornDemocrats are still holding onto their super-majority attitude, signing a non-binding resolution to not be on board with the President – their own guys! Some even got caught calling Obama names – lol.

And good glory – what are these Liberals problems with the wealthy. Half the argument against extending the Bush tax cuts for upper income earners are vitriolic class warfare attacks. It’s obnoxious. America wouldn’t be America without the efforts of “The Rich”. Liberals couldn’t afford all their fancy bureaucracy without those juicy upper income earners.

Let the animosity go guys! Get your anger off at the next parade, sit-in, or boycott. Right now we need to decrease unemployment and stimulate the economy. And those evil rich people – well – the money you don’t take from them and spend on bullshit – they put into investment. Yeah, investment. Investment is what enables business expansion, and business expansion is what creates jobs. Goofy little tax credits – well – those don’t create jobs. Paying people to not work – nope – doesn’t create jobs. Random porkish spending *sigh* NO – it doesn’t create jobs! And you’re stupid to think so. Try running a business and you’ll see why.

The key is to put a serious Republican presidential candidate up in 2012. We need someone who is an actual Conservative AND who will appeal to the Independents – not one or the other. He/she needs to be conservative enough to rally the base, and have a strong and reasonable enough temperament to appeal to reasonable people.

Like I’m always telling people during conversations about this: There’s no hope in hell for an actual centrist to make it all the way up our political system. It was starkly apparent to anyone interested in finding out, that Obama was one of the most Liberal people in Congress. The Left loved him! “The One,” they called him.

But Obama also successfully sold himself as a Centrist to the Independents: We will have the debates on CSPAN. When we disagree, that’s when I will listen most closely to you. We have more in common than we don’t.

It’s hard to predict how formidable of an incumbent Obama will be in 2012. If he pulls a Clinton and moves to the middle, he’ll have Hope. But if you ask me, Obama’s no Clinton. When it comes down to it, Obama is an image, an phenomenal image that’s lost its phenom. There’s not a whole lot to the actual man, little character. He can read a teleprompter like it’s not there. He’s great at saying one thing in a way that three different people wanting to hear three different things each hear what they want to hear. He’s a great campaigner. I’m sure he was a great community organizer. And I bet he would make a great party leader.

But he’s not a good President. He’s not as interested in leading the country as he is in changing it – defeating his political enemies – and so on. Amidst a serious recession he leads the Democrats on an aggressive campaign to grow government (cap’n trade, health care reform, stimulus) vilifying any opponents and claiming horrible consequences as the alternative… Foolish Liberal knee-jerk responses… Cheap baseless political attacks… Dishonest descriptions of the opposition arguments… Dishonest math… Fundamental misunderstanding of leverage and negotiation… Blatant violator of logic… War against FOX… Calling out citizens who speak… making fun of citizens… Reconciliation…

It’s been a constant campaign. Obama was all-consumed with get’n while the get’n was good. But now that it’s not – I’ve got a little optimism sparkling inside me, wondering if we might see Obama transform into an actual leader, an actual problem solver, the guy in his book. Not a jerk selling us ill conceived garbage as a solution.

Donald's solution was a 25% tax on Chinese goods. According to him, this would make making things in America cost-effective once again, and move production back to the US.

Donald Trump has confessed interest in running for president. Gretta Van Susteren was interviewing him, and asked what he’d advice the President about the economy. Donald focused in on the fact that we don’t make anything here, because we make everything in China. And we make it there because it’s so cheap, and it’s so cheap – according to Donald – because they manipulate currency – or as he said: “Ripping us.”

Donald’s solution was a 25% tax on Chinese goods. According to him, this would make making things in America cost-effective once again, and move production back to the US.

Now, my knee-jerk reaction to any presidential candidate – or hopeful candidate – is to assume any talk about economic policy is bullshit. But this is Mr. Trump, and he knows a few things about the movement of currency around this planet.

Questions:

1. Isn’t the main reason Chinese products are so cheap is that their labor is nearly free?

2. What do you think would be the political ramifications of such a policy/tax? Would it cause a trade war or would China straighten the fuck up?

3. What do you think would be the economic ramifications of such a policy/tax? Would it increase demand for American products in American? Would it reduce the demand for American products outside America?

4. What about the rest of the world? You can produce stuff in numerous places, almost everywhere, more cheaply than in the US.

I’ve been waiting for this book to come out for the past seven years, and it’s finally going to be released on the 9th, a memoir of his presidency by George W. Bush. I’m also excited that it’s only 512 pages, not a bloated bag of pretension, hopefully high-yield and full of detail.

According to reviews, Bush is candid, describing his decisions with regard to, and perspective of, defining events such as 9-11, the invasion of Iraq, the financial crisis, Katrina, Afghanistan, and Iran. It’s said that Bush is also honest in the book, directly writing about his flaws and mistakes as well as his accomplishments.

Sales wise, this book is following the Palin/Beck trend and is already #1 on Amazon prior even to its release. It’s a hard cover of course, and costs a reasonable $35 – or an even more reasonable $18.90 on Amazon.com. I wonder when the hillbilly-affordable $8 paperback will appear at Meijer.

The Department Of Justice is on a rampage of crazy to be sure. Not only are they going after the Arizona illegal immigration law, but they are completely ignoring the Black Panthers case too! What the hell is going on in Washington? I have never seen an administration and president so blatantly ignore, bend, and break constitutional laws for the sake of minority votes. But when you look at the hole the dems have dug for themselves, ostracizing even the center, it makes sense. Obama and the dems only hope for remaining in power is to secure a vast majority of minority votes. With independents leaving the Obama camp, its that much more crucial.

This desperate grab for the minority votes is self evident in Obama’s directing the DOJ to drop the Black Panther case, which was already settled but for one last formality that was already certain, and his aggressive attack of Arizona, filing suit against them. This is boldness turned to corruption and ill-fatedness. It boggles the logical mind these tactics. Obama has shown his cards, and they say Chicago gangster scare tactics. He’s brought a new level of thugdom to the white house.

The events that will really seal this apparent and obvious role of Obama and his administration is if these cases fall in his favor. If the black panther case is permanently dropped and left to fade away, and Obama wins his suit against Arizona, it will be a complete and total failure of democracy with regard to these incidents. Thug politics and fear of the highest order will abound in Washington even more than it does now. What the hell is this country coming to when the president directs the DOJ to force states to stop protecting themselves only to offer absolutely no alternative or replacement for the protection? What the hell is this country coming to when voters can be blatantly intimidated at the voting pole doors and the dam president directs the DOJ to just drop it, when it is in the bag, and allow aggressive voting pole intimidation, harassment, and threats by men holding weapons? If I could relay a scream through this post, I would insert it here! I mean, holy shit Obama, what the hell kind of country are you running here? Why don’t you just have the military start taking over the country and impose your personal agenda on the people against their will officially, instead of doing it like no one sees, when everyone does in fact! it’s right in our faces every frickin day!

It is time for men like Christie and Jindal to step up nationally and start leading in the manner of an actual leader, not a bully child trying to force his own way. We need a Reagan desperately at this moment in history to get the country, government, and economy back in line. Since Bushes major departing and mistrust of the free market with the first bale out and even his liberal spending before, we’ve been heading in the wrong direction. Leaders wanted!

His wife likes him, and she seems picky. His children are well behaved. But Obama is a bad president. Compare him to Bill Clinton.

Now, Slick Willy – he’s a jerk. But he was a good president. Hell, he’s still a good president in effect. But Billy had like 10 years of experience as a governor of the State of Arkansas. He already knew how to actually do things.

All Obama has ever run is a campaign, or rather, hired someone to run a campaign. But all a candidate needs to do on the trail is charm people. Obama is a superb charmer! And that’s all he’s done so far. What’s his biggest accomplishment? The health reform bill of course. And what did that require of him? Charm. Others wrote it. Others fell on swords to pass it. He just pranced around making false arguments about his opposition, charmingly, and, charmingly, spoke in the grand generalities that allow people to imagine a perfect world can be had at his command – if given the power.

But when shit starts to explode, industries shut down, and ecosystems are being destroyed day by day on the TV set – or in the back yard – all that fancy charm starts to look like pandering and political maneuvering.

Indeed, people got flustered, “Those drones do kill families all the time.” So I know Bush would have been scorned by the self righteous boohoo anti-war wanks.

The joke it’s self wasn’t the problem. It’s how Obama tells jokes that makes them weird. He starts smirking before he even tells it, anticipating all his little podium bunnies will chuckle along regardless. And he keeps smirking – with a cadence making it obvious he’s attempting a joke – as people patiently wait for him to stumble it out.

That joke was similar to Brown’s joke about his daughters. It embarrassed everyone. But Obama went on to add something about the most controversial weapon in the arsenal – which the President actually does kill people with. If the Iraqi invasion was illegal drone strikes are assassinations.
