I still don’t have much love for the Creationist movement, but this Ben Stein movie is hilarious. It, among other things, follows scientists who were blacklisted for being associated with “intelligent design.” It’s pretty well done. Made me laugh.

I’m disturbed by the Whitehouse response. First, Obama needs to crack down on these idiots like Napolitano – they are always going on TV with their own ideas of policy and reality, trying to spin everything as usual and people are seeing though it now.
That barrel of pork, what a dirty dirty operation. It’s about to be passed. They found all the votes, and by ‘found’ I mean came to an agreement upon how much cash and concessions the hold-outs get for voting for this messy example of bad legislation. I’ve been watching msn. They must only allow the serious partisan congress people on there, or maybe they administer an IQ test to filter out anyone with sense. They’re all so scattered except for their unanimous idea that they tried really hard to get the Republicans in on things, but the Republicans are just being totally rude and everything. I mean, the Dems and Obama tried so hard, so very sincerely hard, for this to be bi-partisan. They let some Republicans talk – like – out loud. Obama listened to some Republicans offer ideas – yeah he ignored the ideas along with the rest of us but again – he let them talk. And it’s not like Republicans aren’t allowed to vote for the bill – they’re just not allowed anywhere near the writing process or anywhere near the bill until right before we all vote for it. I mean, all those jerky Reps had to do was blindly fall in line behind Reid and Pelosi – gosh…
Obama’s no more of a left wing nut than Bush was a right wing nut (which he wasn’t). I’m not saying he wasn’t a
terrible president. He just didn’t try Laissez faire capitalism or making unions illegal. No a right wing nut.
I’m amazed at the optimism some have when Obama is the subject. If he’s not a Left wing-nut no one is. This decision on Afghanistan had less to do with ideology and more to do with drinking the lesser political poison.
So what do you think the actual motivation is behind Obama’s troop decision? I support the decision, assuming Mc Crystal’s
strategy is followed properly. I know – Obama had no business taking an entire three months of fall season to decide on this, and then call for them to be deployed quickly. Wars have been started and finished in less time.
Seriously though, I’m glad Rio got it. It’s about time a non-uppity non-communist country got it. It’s also fun to see arrogance be rewarded. And I know – all these other leaders went too. But Obama – damn it – and his non-special view of the US isn’t healthy I think. I consider the President to be the leader of the free world. He needs to stay out of these types of things, including the David Letterman show – ffs.
I’ve been thinking about the speech. I meant to write a thing about it. I’m having trouble though. I’m just worn out by the extreme sides jerking each other off. LOL – there’s this guy on Fresh Air. He’s an author of a book about Conservatives. He’s going on and on about all these crazy conspiracy theories right wing talk radio is making popular at the same time he’s presenting his own theories about the diabolical right. LOL
I think the decision to send our fire fighters into the woods was an irresponsible decision. I say bring the fire fighters home and end the fire in CA NOW!
If we all hold hands we can stop this fire. Bring the fire fighters home before we lose another one in this useless fire.
