Congress, you’re discussing a bill that would, after an evaluation by the Joint Chiefs as to how, do away with Don’t Ask Don’t Tell – essentially making it no longer grounds for discharge to be openly gay.

Listen people, this is going to happen. Even if this particular bill doesn’t do it, and even if this bill is held up, it’s going to happen. And the current attitude toward the subject is generally rational – surprisingly. Sure, there are a number of activists waving the rainbow flag trying to kill Don’t Ask Don’t Tell in order to fulfill their gay-rights agenda. But look at the bill’s focus. Before implementation, it required evaluation by the Joint Chiefs in deciding how to make the change. You’re not going to get better than that until Palin is sworn into the Presidency.

So let’s not act ridiculous and make contrived and theoretical arguments against allowing gays in the military. Save your energy for the more serious lunacy coming down the Congressional grey-water pipe. Seriously, you’re doing more harm than good. The more you make the standard arguments the more riled up the gay activists get and the less combat-effectiveness oriented this whole discussion gets.

You don’t think making such a change while we are fighting 2+ wars is the best time? Bull shit! If you think this all volunteer army will miss a beat letting their gays proclaim what their buddies already know – you’re dead wrong. No fighting force throughout history is even comparable to our current military in organization and effectiveness. They could make this change on a Sunday morning standing on their head pissing a rainbow and be on time for church.

You think open gayness will harm moral? Hell, maybe it will. Personally, I doubt it – kids don’t care about that crap anymore. The only fear in that respect the brass seem to have is of problems with the enlisted men. But that’s only natural – kids will be kids. They like to give each other a hard time about anything.  And those kids will learn proper behavior post-haste after their first General Issue ass-wringing.

You worry about the type of characters that will appear in uniform? Come on… That stereotypical Will and Jack (From the show Will and Grace) aren’t the type of fine human being who accepts the honor of military service. Will and Jack are gay-pride groupies. There are plenty of people – hard core red blooded Americans – regular in every way, except that they are blessed with an honor-bound adventure-craving spirit, and find sexual release with the same sax.

Bottom line, if a young man or woman is willing to put their mind and body in harm’s way to protect this country, you should support that effort – regardless of their open romantic involvements, assuming those involvements won’t deteriorate combat effectiveness. And this bill makes that effort. Don’t miss a chance to not be a jackass. Save it up for this Cap n’ Trade nonsense.

It’s fine for passive citizens whose allegiance is more or less irrelevant. If you were a functioning part of the framework –allegiance would be different. A soldier, for example, can’t question his orders. He must obey them, unless of course they are illegal. Our current climate nearly has solders requiring basic training in military law – with all the appeasement we’ve been attempting in Iraq when civilians get killed.

Sometimes bad things have to happen to protect good things, and we need people willing to do the bad things. Those are patriots. Those are men like Oliver North who stand up and take blame honorably. Those men are like the SEAL team that shot those poor confused pirates in the head.

Sacrifice. Your people before yourself. Patriotism.

I wouldn’t call the US a big company. Yeah, the government is, but the United States of America and the Constitution are much more than that. They are an idea. That is what America is – it’s not just this jackass government. I don’t understand how one can be a patriot “for now” unless they plan to change some core beliefs – like becoming a socialist.

If Denmark (referenced from previous post) or any country wants to impose their government on my people – I’ll fight them for no other reason than the fact that a foreign – unelected – group is compelling something on my people. This is a primal patriotic response. The Taliban and Al Qaeda use it to convince people who don’t know any better to fight the Iraqi and Afghan governments.

Also – if our government became unjust or oppressive – like Iraq and Afghanistan WERE – that would be a different story. I would then fight the government as a patriot to the United States of America. Of course, some of the people I would be fighting would also be patriots. It’s a matter of politics at such a points.

Regardless, politics doesn’t dilute the meaning of patriotism. Patriots put their society before themselves. And despite the trends in word use, patriotism is just as important during times of peace. Patriots support and protect their society in millions of ways besides killing rivals and aggressors – like trimming tree branches away from stop signs and clearing snow away from fire hydrants.

You’ve probably heard the story, the SEALs who captured that jerk who is openly responsible for burning and displaying the contractors in Fallujah are being prosecuted for – according to the detained jerk – punching him in the little belly and hurting his widdle wip.

Well, we can’t stand for prisoner abuse, that’s for sure. We have to crack down on this right away and HARD. So here’s how the SEALs should be punished:

In a loud deep voice:

“BAD! BAD Navy SEAL BAD. That’s a naughty SEAL!”

Pause for a moment scowling. Allow the SEAL to show submission. Now release the SEAL from correction. In a happy high pitch voice say:

“Ok. Now come here. That’s my good little boy. You’re such a sweet-heat. I love you. I love you. Kisses? Oh – kisses… Now go kill some terrorist! Go on. Go kill some terrorist. Go get’m. Go get’m. Kill them before they kill us. Go kill them before they kill us. They have plans. They want us all to die. No woman’s rights – none at all. Go kill’m first. They strap bombs to children and the mentally disabled. They think God wants them to do it. Only brave men like you can stop them. Go on now. Go get’m.”

I hope this point doesn’t have too many layers to be easily comprehended.

I worry much for the process, but anything better than humping bags of rice up and down these slippery God-forsaken roads for barely pay enough for one miserable bowl of rice a day for myself.

Let’s outline the process just to avoid confusion.

1. Get arrested by American troops for terrorism.
2. Take advantage of your free high-class legal council provided my America.
3. Get acquitted in NY.
4. Get released in NY with a tidy US government stipened.

Ok, now steps 2, 3, and 4 are automatic assuming you manage to pull off step 1 properly. The key is to do something belligerent enough to rattle the American troops into arresting you without shooting you. This will take some creativity. Stealing something won’t work. Another idea would be to have someone tip-off the troops that you’re a terrorist and have some cell phone part in your bag.

Once you get your lawyer you can then explain how you stole a phone and took it apart because you couldn’t get it to work, and how you were swearing at the soldiers because you had them confused with some other soldiers who threw bottles of piss at you as they drove by.

Samad: Oh good. I had some confusion about step 1. And thank you for asking. My ass has healed well. That learns me to no more walk in front of my goat near air field.

I have question: How bad the soldiers beat me and how long probably they keep and torture me before trial? I worry for that. Last time I taken by police here they beat me good. Weeks later, after many interrogations, they let me out at night and I know not where I was. Also, even now if I smell gasoline I vomit uncontrollably and if I see duct-tape I salivate profusely – not to mention my height is now two solid inches less for some reason.

I no want sound like stupid girl, but longer torture than 2 week give me worry. I know, I know, after working as tie-down for uncle who own truck, few things give worry, but at least falling of truck at high speed offer fast death.

Oh Samad – where do you get these ideas? Hell, some of our most elite, highly trained, and honorable soldiers – Navy SEALs – are currently being prosecuted for supposedly giving that jerk who burned those contractors in Fallujah a bloody lip.

Once you’re captured they won’t harm you. They’ll take good care of you and have a doctor treat that ass wound.
