Death panels again… FOX, why?

That guy was filling in for Hannity, who is often as brazen as this guy was. But that wasn’t the point. The point was that FOX had that crazy Death Panels lady on there again even after she was humiliated in the last round.

Hannity’s job is to represent the hard Conservative side of things, and have fun doing it. Having a Nut Rocket on his show representing his side doesn’t help with that. I don’t know who the other lady was, the one defending the clause, but she didn’t do a very good job. She spent more time acting exasperated than she did calling the crazy out.

Like I always say: “Don’t argue with a crazy person. It validates their crazy.” It’s like arguing with a 9-11 Truther. You can’t.

They bring up the melting point of steel.

You tell them it’s irrelevant because steel has only to get slightly warm to lose half its strength.

They call you a sheep for believing everything your government tells you.

You stammer momentarily, trying to understand what they mean, trying to remember the last time your government told you anything.

They assume your pause and surprised look means they made a valid point.

Healthcare reform bill stalled

Ok guys, I get it. You got caught up in all the inaugural excitement. We elected Obama assuming “change” meant a thoughtful approach, but you thought we gave you a mandate to turn the country on its keel. So you went after you’re dreams: single payer, sky-rocketing business costs, and reduced carbon output. I can’t blame anyone for going after their dreams. And hey, at least you go that juicy stimulus!

But those darn Democrats, they got in your way. Single payer was compromised into single payer under a different name – then into a public option. Then even that was compromised – first into some fancy long winded name coined by Pelosi that essentially meant public option, and finally, a year later, into nothing more than a list new regulations – more similar to the Republican alternative to Hillary Care than the brilliant progressive stride we were all assuming would slide through. (Eh, regardless of the naïve math and unfunded state Medicaid mandates) And to add insult to injury, you have to buy some of those Dem votes too.

And darn-it – you could have passed it. Hell, you could have passed a bill covering sea lions FFS. I know you’d like to blame the Republicans, but shit man – you knew you had all the power and that’s how you wrote the bill. No Republican could have voted for that thing any more than you guys could all climb on board with invading Iraq! Or – wait. You got tricked on that one – hu? Well, you know what I mean. You can’t blame the dog you’re walking when you walk into a pole – even if he was enthusiastic about it.

So the question is: What now. Indeed, this bill is shot to shit. Stack that monstrosity on the back of the toilet in the staff bathroom. But what now? Should you pole-vault over the wall with Pelosi? Should you try to come to some reasonable consensus with a few reasonable Republicans? Should you keep this unorganized circus with your ring leader off in his own ring singing his poems?

I’m not sure what you should do. I’d like to see some actual reform though.

Congress to cut funding for KSM trial in NY

Every time anyone asks Obama or anyone in his admin a question about trying KSM in civilian court, they duck the question and assure us he’ll be convicted and executed. So if this is just going to be a $1 billion show trial – why not just “have the trial” (wink-wink)? You know – take a few days off, “have the trial,” print up some transcripts and stuff, execute the bastard, and use the $1 billion on some new Predator drones or something.

I appreciate efforts to make positive comments. But holy horses ass don’t you hate being treated like you’re a stupid jerk who has no idea what’s happened in the past year?

Indeed, I love the idea of a capital gains tax cut on small business investment. But I’ll swear this right now – and let it be heard: If Obama and his Democrats pass such a tax cut, and actual cut and not in name only, the following Saturday, at the first strike of noon, I will cross my front street and take a shit in my mail box.

This address has amazed me. I wasn’t expecting Obama to be so brazenly and blatantly contradictory and – well – disingenuous. This address was one contradiction after another – and one skewed view of reality after another.

Seriously – he’s still trying to sell the Recovery Act as a jobs creator? Even MSNBC is calling that bill a big fat failure. No one with a brain is proud of that load of pork – Liberal victory party.

Seriously – he thinks there’s no support for this asinine health reform bill because he didn’t explain it well enough? Does he really think we’re that stupid??? Who the hell knows what is in that bill? The week before last his camp had locked themselves in a room, made dirty secret deals in order to grab votes for a secret bill. All the while Obama is constantly – on every channel every week – spouted poetry about vague ideas of health reform. Didn’t explain it well enough… Oh yeah – if only the American people understood the bill they’d all be on board. YOU KNOW DAMN WELL YOU KEPT IT A F****G SECRET BECAUSE YOU KNEW DAMN WELL IF AMERICA DID KNOW WHAT WAS IN IT THEY’D SHIT THEMSELVES OVER IT!!!!

Seriously – he wants to talk about putting old Washington politics aside? That’s what he spent the last bit of the address about, an emotionally calling for a start of new, and so on. Seriously? HE – Obama – was calling for an end to the perpetual campaign???  Come on – we aren’t all stupid. Obama himself IS that dirty style of politics – where you do [this] but talk [that]. That’s what this address IS!!!. He’s talking [$that] while doing [$this].

$that = nuclear, drilling, tax cuts, spending freeze, veto

$this = health takeover, redistribution, climate religion, command economics

I noticed something interesting. He claimed with regard to healthcare reform that he didn’t take it on to take a political victory. As he said it though, watch his body language. He didn’t believe what he was saying, or at least he wasn’t comfortable or confident saying it.

But the most honest thing he said was that he’d focus on job creation in 2010. No – I don’t believe he will focus on job creation in 2010. It’s just honest that he basically admitted that he sure as shit wasn’t focusing on jobs creation in 2009 – unless you count government jobs.

I’d get more detailed, but I’m just exhausted. Obama’s idea of sharing a cake is to take the whole damn thing up to his room. Of course his brother will disagree with that policy. So Obama will accuse his brother of “not sharing” by blocking his policy of sharing the cake.

I can’t believe a single thing Obama says anymore. I just can’t. It’s not partisanship either, or any of that blind religious belief in conservativism some would like to accuse me of, or racism, or prejudice against left handed people. It’s a simple fact I learned long ago: Some people lie.

Also, does anyone else find his narcissism a little off-putting? Shit, this whole speech was focused on Obama. I-I-I-I-I-I-I…

It is funny that every Democrat commenting on the speech has had something derogatory to say about Republicans holding up legislation. Those poor Dems… If they ever took a group trip to Baskin Robins we’d never see them again.

Come on Republicans. Get on board with our cake sharing policy! Don’t you believe we should share cake??? Why won’t you let us share the cake with you? You just want the whole cake for yourselves don’t you. Yeah, you’re selfish. Obama has bent over backwards to compromise with your guys and you’ll have nothing to do with it. It’s like – you expect Obama’s cake sharing policy to actually let you have some of the cake or something…

Shit I shouldn’t have watched this thing so early in the day. I was going to watch it last night but my connection got sick. Maybe I’ll have more detailed and less frustrated comments later.

Well let’s start with the actual reasons for the planes. They are for high level Air Force and Washington officials. Three of them are replacements for three retired planes and the forth one, well, someone less than politically savvy decided we needed to add it (probably for the furiously growing number of officials in Washington).

What’s wrong with commercial? Well, as those hapless auto company CEOs tried to explain to congress when congress reamed them out for flying theirs – it saves money. When you have to travel all the time, with heavy security and staff, and often at short notice – private aircraft pay for themselves, and are simply more secure in almost every way in comparison to commercial flights.

From here it looks like the Republicans will have more ammo than a carrier group. It’s difficult to say how hard they’ll have to work though. It’s only been seven months. The Democrats have certainly pulled a lot in that seven months, but who knows what big issue will be at the forefront in three years. Maybe heath care reform will fail and Obama will lose power to get anything more passed and simply sails into obscurity after 2012. Maybe the economy will turn around thanks to clunkers and energy taxes thrusting Obama into a second term, then a third, and then into a socialist dictatorship?

Or maybe all this crap they are pulling in Washington will continue to keep businesses scared out of their minds and the new taxes will keep them crippled – causing the economy to continued to spiral down. The big stimulus and other abuses of the dollar eventually kill it. A terror attack occurs. An Iranian or N. Korean nuclear weapon undocumentedly migrates to one of our cities and melts it. And Obama is chased out of office by a very small group of vocal Republicans with pitch forks.

It’s really hard to tell. According to Obama’s book, he should know what the Democrats are causing. He talks about how Bush and the Republican majority cost themselves a lot of political capital by belligerently forcing legislation through – which is just what we’re seeing now. That’s why I used to think Obama wasn’t worried about getting elected in 2012. I thought he was going to just try pushing through all the social change he possibly could.

Now I think he was just naïve and is learning lessons – because he’s now compromising the crap out of health care reform with the conservative Democrats. He dropped from government run health care to government run health insurance to single payer options and now even that is being debated.

Oh yeah – talk about transparency. Buying those jets was considered the continuation of a previous program. That’s why they tried to keep it quiet and didn’t post it on Obama’s transparency website. Lol
