Everyone, when writing about Obama in the context of his economic policies revise the word “Socialist” to “Carter-stupid Democrat” and “Socialist” to “Carter-stupidism.” In all other contexts, please revise other uses of “Socialist” to the terms “pansy” or “Fascist” as appropriate.
Good call. The more I think about it the more I agree with it. Obama isn’t advocating Socialism in it’s traditional – factory workers string up the factory owners then starve to death because they weren’t sure about a couple of things pertaining to running a factory – form. What he advocates is a Western European form of Socialism, which by your clean-cut definition isn’t socialism at all.
Specifically Obama’s economic policies, and even more specifically his economic recovery / jobs ideas aren’t socialist. The absolute best way I can think to describe them is Carter-stupid – much more appropriate.
Yes. Crippling economic activity by throwing future tax rates up in the air – taxing sources of economic activity in order to spend billions on programs that non-business-experienced bureaucrats think will create jobs is – if anything – Carter stupid.
Fascism, or fascist in its descriptive form, however, is descriptive of many of the policies he advocates and tendencies he
has – like the lack of transparency, attempts to shut-out opposition, and the general idea that the ignorant masses can’t take care of themselves and need an élite group to make their decisions for them. Traditionally fascist states have had a great deal of control over industry, banks, and the day-to-day lives of their people – often in the name of fixing a crisis.
