An Innocent Question

May 25, 2010 by Noisy Dove

Hey Noisy Dove, there’s so much wrong with the world. Where should we start and how should we fix it?

Well Jackass, that’s a great question. We could start with people that ask lofty naïve questions like that little turd of a gem. I mean seriously – how privileged, isolated, arrogant, and over encouraged does a person have to be to ask such an audacious question?

A crying hippy

Boo Hoo, I'm a hippy

And who is this ‘We’ you’re talking about? Do you mean you and me? Are you asking what an individual can do to effect improvements in the world? HA! I wish that’s what you were asking! Just in case: Learn everything you can about your niche in life and work hard to find better and more efficient ways for you and your beneficiaries to live and grow.

But that’s not the ‘We’ you’re talking about is it. You’re thinking of a community we. You’re asking what type of change we should attempt by advocating and with activism. So specific to you: Realize that few problems will find any type of long term solution in a huge bundle of cash, ship loads of subsidized-farm-grown food aid, and/or petty bloated bureaucracies. So take all those ostentatious know-it-all ideas you’ve absorbed from countless x-hippy teachers and self worshiping activist classmates about whose money you should spend and on what, roll them up nice and tight, like a joint, and gently but firmly hey-hey hoe-hoe them right up your compassionate puckered little ass.

Oh – also recycle and get a technical degree of some sort, not that Liberal Arts shit. And if you’re already a Liberal Arts graduate, just be sure to recycle. Don’t buy a hybrid. If you’ve got that big of a boner for carbon, keep driving the regular engine and stop eating meat.
